やなか健真堂 | Yanaka Senshindo

We got bored of Kita Senja and we decided to stop by Nippori Station because I remembered that Japan Hour (Channel NewsAsia) featured the area before. It was supposed to be one of the hidden spots in Japan only known by tourists.

We hopped onto the JR Joban line and we headed to Nippori. I personally didn’t find that Nippori was as exciting as it sounded when featured on Japan Hour. While it was certainly an area that is close enough to the “inner cities” of Tokyo, yet away from the usual hustle and bustle that Tokyo has come to be known for, there is really nothing much about this place.

We found ourselves along the Yanaka Ginza Shopping District after wandering around the area and we checked ourselves into Yanaka Senshindo.

Yanaka Senshindo occupies a tiny space on the second floor of the shophouse just as you enter the shopping district. The space houses both a cafe and a souvenir shop.
