We departed from Singapore Changi Airport on the 18th of Feb 2017 at 2200hrs. After an one hour transit via Bangkok, we landed at Narita Airport at 0800hrs the next day.
Breakfast was first on the agenda and we found ourselves at N’Court where we had a simple Japanese Breakfast Set and a Pancake Set.
We headed down to the basement where the JR-Pass Exchange Office was located at to exchange our Exchange Order for our JR Pass. We received our Exchange Order back in Singapore after purchasing them from japan-rail-pass.com. While it was previously impossible to purchase JR-Pass within Japan, it has since changed and you are able to purchase them at major JR Counters across the country at a higher rate than if you were to purchase them outside of Japan via an authorised agency.
We opted to activate our JR Pass from Feb 21 2017 (Day 03) and we also purchased Suica Cards from the exchange counter.
We decided to take the Keisei Narita Sky Access Express instead of the JR Narita Express as we did not have our JR Pass activated, and it was cheaper to travel to Tokyo. Other than the JR Narita Express and the Keisei Skyliner, there are actually several local train that that also connects Narita Airport to Tokyo. While the prices of the local tickets are much cheaper, the trade-off would be a longer commute time.
We had to alight at Oshiage Station to transfer to the Tobu Skytree Line before we arrived at Nishiarai Station.
