With 10 outlets in Singapore, Ippudo Ramen is by no means an unfamiliar brand. We chanced upon Ippudo while we were at Nagoya Ekimen-Dori (Nagoya Ramen Street).
The biggest difference between the Singapore and Japan outlets lies in the menu. In Japan, there are only 3 ramen dishes while in Singapore, there offer up to 6 ramen dishes.
I don’t remember any major difference in the taste. What sets the Nagoya outlet apart was the in-shop experience itself.
Back in Singapore, Ippudo as placed itself in the premium market. They offer customers a high-end dining experience (price & outlet decor). In Japan, you can get a bowl of ramen for around 750¥ (SGD 10), and it felt more like dining in a fast-food restaurant.
Ippudo Japan also serves complimentary bean sprouts, pickled ginger and water for each customer.
