Located at the 3rd floor of the domestic terminal, Ramen Dojyo is the one-stop place for visitors to try the different types of Hokkaido Ramen. There are 10 of the best ramen shops from around Hokkaido, whereby each store delivers its signature taste to the table.

Right at the entrance of Ramen Dojyo is Ebisoba Ichigen. It is famed for its special shrimp soup base and there is a long queue is formed outside the restaurant. Ordering from the menu is very simple. First, choose from two types of soup base (shrimp soup or shrimp mixed with tonkotsu (pork bone broth) soup). Next, choose your seasoning (miso, salt and soy sauce) and your noodle type (fat or thin). Extras such as pork slices and egg can be ordered as well.

I had the shrimp mixed with tonkotsu soup, salt seasoning and thin noodles. The addition of shrimp in the soup base certainly helps to set the ramen apart from the rest. The soup carried the richness of the pork broth and the shrimp helps to tone the soup down making it easier for you finish the whole bowl of soup without feeling bloated.

Service was great though the place was fully packed. You may feel slightly claustrophobic sitting alongside diners with their bags and luggages, though the staff will try their best to direct customers with large baggage to leave them by the side of the restaurant.

If you get hungry, definitely visit Ebisoba.
