Demachiyanagi Station

We left Porta and walked to Shichijo Subway Station. We headed for the Demachiyanagi Station as we wanted to reserve our tickets to Kurama as we read online that there are limited tickets for sale (this is not true and I will explain why later on).

After getting our return tickets from the ticketing counter at Demachiyanagi Station, we explored the area around the station before heading to Fushimi Inari.

Located right next to the station is where the Kamogawa River & the Takanogawa River meets.

We sat down at the bank of the river, basking in the cold wind while sipping a hot drink that we got from the vending machine at the station. It was really tranquil. Near where the two river meets, there is a bridge made up of stone tortoise statues.

We further explored the area before heading back to the station.
