I have walked past Siam Seafood Restaurant quite a couple of times both in this trip as well as in my previous Bangkok Trip. The restaurant is located right outside Shibuya19 Shopping Centre; opposite Platinum Mall. This is also where I get my daily fix of Mango Sticky Rice.

BBQ Fish
The fish was coated with a layer of salt before it was barbecued. The fish itself was very fresh but it had a lingering fishy tilapia smell. The cook on the fish was very well-controlled and the meat itself was very firm. The dish was served with a spicy Thai green sauce.

Stir-Fried Kai Lan
The stir-fried kai lan with garlic and oyster sauce was slightly undercooked. The dish was topped with fried garlic and the taste was able to come through very well.

Seafood Tom Yum Soup
The soup was not spicy at all and it just tasted sweet, unlike the typical sour and spicy taste that you would expect from tom yum. The only seafood found in the soup was the prawns and they were not fresh at all. They were not firm but were mushy.

Blanched Cockles
Although the cockles weren’t smelly, they were super dry. My mom said it was not fresh and my dad said it was overcooked.

BBQ Prawns
The BBQ prawns were huge and they were way better than the prawns inside the tom yum soup. The meat was very firm and it has a lingering smoky flavour from the BBQ itself.

We spent a total of ฿1685 for this meal.

I bought mango sticky rice from Siam Seafood Restaurant on our way back to the hotel. At ฿140, it wasn’t the cheapest option available. You can easily get a packet from a random street side vendor at ฿100. The packet came with a whole mango, two small portions of sticky rice and coconut milk.

I bought this before on my previous trip to Bangkok and true enough, I knew that the mango would be sweet unlike those from the streets which are usually sour.
