My experience at Sabx2 Wanton Mee has pretty much been a hit & miss type affair. I have been here before back in 2014. I have always remembered the queue to be super long and this time it was no different.
Wantoon Noodles (฿100)
The wanton noodles costs ฿100 a bowl which is not cheap by Bangkok standards.
The portion was pretty small and it is topped with crab meat. The ฿80 version without the crab meat is no longer available. Personally, I felt that the noodles were honestly quite nice despite the lack of the typical sauces used that you could find in your wanton noodles in Singapore. The saltiness in the crab meat really helped elevate the flavour profile of the noodles. The star of the show is really the chunks of pork lard and oil. The wantons themselves were too sweet for my liking.
Braised Pork
There was nothing much to rave about the braised bork as I personally found them lacking in flavour. The cook on the pork was very soft, and consistency of the sauce was thin. There was only a very mild herb taste and the pepper aftertaste was very strong.
