Sapporo Ramen Yokochu, also known as the ramen street, is a narrow lane located at Susukino. Serving Sapporo’s famous ramen, there are 17 ramen stalls that you can choose from.
Teshikaga is one of them and we chose this place after quickly reading a review online. Known for their miso ramen, you have to select what you want to order and pay for it at a vending machine at the door.
We were the only customers when we visited and the owners were very friendly and constantly tried to engage us with his limited but impressive English vocabulary.
We ordered two different types of ramen and a plate of gyoza to share.
The owners were very generous with the portion of char siew (roasted pork slices). The ramen itself was okay, and the soup base was very thick.
The gyoza however was quite disappointing as it was cold and the skin of the dumplings felt like plastic.
This small joint tries to stand out amongst the competition in this narrow alley. Free wifi is also available inside the store.
