We had our dinner at Kaiton Pratunam Chicken Rice. The store is located across the road from The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam. There was a long queue when we arrived but the staff was able to organise the crowd. All customers were asked to queue up and to wait in line for their turn to be seated. A group of staff was in charge of serving and clearing the tables, and another group was in charge of taking orders. The staff taking orders were able to communicate in English and they had an English menu as well.

We ordered three plates of chicken rice and a side order of roast pork to share.

The chicken was slightly dry, unlike the smooth and soft texture of our Hainanese chicken rice. The rice was fragrant and tasty. The texture however was very mushy.

The light soya sauce mixed with chopped green chili, garlic and fish-sauce tasted quite sour and I didn’t really like it.

The roast pork was more like braised pork. The pork was well-braised; the meat had absorbed the flavour from the sauce and it was very tender. While I liked it, the taste of the meat reminded me of Kambing Soup (mutton soup).
